Our Story 

Southgate Mosque and Community Centre is an inclusive space. Everyone who comes here, from whichever background, country or culture feels equally welcomed. It provides a safe and nurturing environment for us and our children, and offers a multitude of services to the local community. 

The site has a Grade 2 listed building in 3 acres of land in the heart of Southgate. The cost is £6.5 Million. Through kind donations from across UK, and fundraising efforts from the community we have raised £4.5 million in 8 months, but we still have £2 million left to pay by the end of the month. Time is running out and every donation counts! The message needs to go global and reach a million people who will donate £2 each. 

You may of course give more than £2, if you wish, and any amount will be most gratefully received. 

Let’s unite as ONE Ummah, and together we can complete the purchase of this Mosque & Community Centre in just 2 months. 

Our prophet (peace be upon him) said “whoever builds a house of Allah in this world, Allah will build him or her a house in Jannah” (Bukhari)

Examples of the community projects which are already being run by the Mosque. 

• Food bank- we are now supplying 100 families.
• Kids weekly Breakfast club.
• Youth Clubs – for boys and for girls
• Martial arts classes, self-defence classes, football, Journal club, Art classes 

What we have achieved so far

Our fundraising efforts in the last 3 months include:-

• We raised £100,000 in our Ramadan 1000×1000 challenge
• We raised another £100,000 on the 27th Night.
• We held a 50 mile cycling Challenge- Southgate to Cambridge; A Ladies Wellness Day; and a sponsored Nature Walk. Children also enthusiastically participated in the fundraising campaign! 

The Future

With your help, once we will own this property, our plans are to renovate and restore the historic buildings, and to turn the site in into a community hub. Our plan is to establish a full-time school, evening and weekend education centre, community centre providing support to families, young and elderly, a pre-school nursery, expand the Food bank, and landscape the grounds into a peaceful eco-garden for everyone to enjoy.
